Food allergies and Food intolerances

Food allergy and food intolerance are commonly confused, as symptoms of food intolerance occasionally resemble those of food allergy. However, food intolerance is a digestive system response rather than an immune system response. It occurs when something in the food irritates a person’s digestive system or when a person is unable to properly digest, or break down, the food.

Food intolerance also does not show on allergy testing as they are delayed allergic reactions with symptoms appearing after days or weeks. Some of the symptoms of food intolerance are:

Stomach pain.

Physiotherapy and Sports rehabilitation

What Is Physical Therapy?

As the word implies, a physical therapist focuses on bodily strength and movement to help patients recover from injuries.

After a  musculoskeletal examination, our therapist develops a personalized treatment plan based on the patient’s musculoskeletal pathology .

Treatment may combine  techniques to relieve pain  along with exercises, to build strength and range of motion.

So if you are suffering from tendinitis, bursitis, neck and low back pain- this will be your treatment of choice .

The treatment of musculoskeletal conditions is a specialized area of physiotherapy. Our therapist uses musculoskeletal evaluation techniques that help identify the specific problem creating pain and disability and utilizes current research-based protocols and treatment plans that are customized to your individual goals.

Sports Physiotherapy is the specialized branch of musculoskeletal physiotherapy which deals with injuries and issues related to sports  related exercise ( eg gym ) .  Irrespective of the level of competition that you may participate in , amateur or professional , team or individual , we can help in your recovery .Sports injuries differ to everyday musculoskeletal injuries as sportsmen  require high levels of performance, and the demands placed upon their body stresses their muscles, joints and bones to the limit. Sports physiotherapists help athletes recover from sporting injuries, and provide education and resources to prevent problems.

Each sports physiotherapist has sport-specific knowledge that addresses acute, chronic and overuse injuries. Their services are generally available to sports men and women of all ages engaged in sports at any level of competition.

Our physiotherapist draws upon her many years of experience to accurately diagnose the injury, and plan an individually based treatment and rehabilitation program. This rehabilitation program will be designed and modified with close communication with your physician, coach and any other appropriate individuals involved with your sport.

Having said that , the patient and the therapist have to collaborate to achieve best results in any manual musculoskeletal  physiotherapy .Recovery is aided by a clear emphasis on  patient education by teaching self-care and at-home exercise programmes on the first visit and every visit thereafter.

We offer a full range of rehabilitation techniques and therapies such as:

  • Manual and manipulative physiotherapy
  • Peripheral Nerve Release Techniques
  • Dry Needling
