Root Canal Treatment
It is a treatment of the canal inside the root of the tooth. Each tooth has a root/roots which has a canal/canals that are filled with nerves and blood vessels. When these tissues get infected, they need to be removed and the inside of the root needs to be cleaned and sealed. In layman terms, Root Canal Treatment (RCT ) is a procedure to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or that has become infected.
At Apex, a root canal is done with the precision it deserves to treat and save a tooth that is damaged, infected or badly decayed. Done in two stages, the nerves and pulp are first removed and the infected area inside the tooth is effectively cleaned and sealed.
Root Canal Treatment
Why do you need a Root Canal?
A seemingly harmless cavity in the tooth leaves an opening where bacteria can enter, reside and multiply. If left untreated, these bacteria cause infections and form pockets or abscesses filled with pus up at the roots of the tooth.
This may cause severe pain and swelling that could spread to other areas of the face or head. In fact, some infections can bring about bone loss around the tip of the tooth’s roots. Constant pain, tenderness, and swelling of the gums, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold and discoloration of the tooth are signs that one may need a root canal. A Dental consultation would be the best way to determine the best way to deal with each individual case.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the procedure largely depends on the factors such as the severity of the damage, the number of canals and the restoration method.
